Gov. Chris Christie says Obama deserves 'great credit' for Sandy response

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has been one of President Barack Obama’s harshest critics during the 2012 presidential campaign, but he had nothing but praise for him when it came to his response to Hurricane Sandy.

Christie said the president deserves “great credit” for his response to Sandy, during an appearance on CBS This Morning today.

Obama reportedly stayed up through the night contacting governors to make sure they had all the resources they needed during the storm. The president also made federal disaster declarations for states like N.J., which helped make financial aid available to storm-affected regions.

“I can’t thank the president enough for that,” Christie said.

A significant portion of the Garden State remains without power this morning.
