Former 'CSI' star Gary Dourdan files for bankruptcy

Former CSI star Gary Dourdan seems to be in the midst of a financial crisis.

According to TMZ the 45-year-old actor has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

As cited in documents obtained by TMZ, the troubled actor has roughly $1.8 million in assets, but owes his creditors $1.73 million.

He reportedly owes $1.6 million to various banks, including Union Bank, which holds the mortgage to his home that may be in default.

The most shocking part of Dourdan bankruptcy filing is that he claims to currently have a disposable income of only $321 a month and says he has $14,562 in monthly bills.

This not Dourdan’s first run in with the law.

On November 6, 2011, he was arrested at his home in Venice, CA, following an alleged altercation with his former girlfriend, Nicole Vail Cannizzaro. Her nose was broken during the argument. He was charged with felony battery.

Dourdan received his first big break when Debbie Allen cast him as Shazza Zulu on the NBC sitcom A Different World.

He is best known for portraying Warrick Brown for eight seasons on the popular CBS drama CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.
