Rep. Michele Bachmann was recently front and center on the floor of the House declaring her opposition to Obamacare, yet again.
According to Mediaite, the Republican congresswoman took a strong stance urging the repeal of the president’s health reform legislation.
“The American people, especially vulnerable women, vulnerable children, vulnerable senior citizens now to get to pay more and they get less,” she told her colleagues on the third anniversary of the passage of the Affordable Care Act.
“Let’s repeal this failure before it literally kills women, kills children, kills senior citizens,” she adds during one of her more emotional moments.
Bachmann introduced the first bill of the 113th Congress to repeal the law in mid-January of this year and is one of the most vocal supporters of the most recent attempt by House Republicans to dismantle Obamacare.
Under the Affordable Care Act, Obama hopes to expand health care to cover close to 30 million Americans who are currently uninsured. At the same time, the law will fine those who can afford coverage but remain without it.
All coverage under the act will begin Jan. 1, 2014, which will also expand Medicaid coverage to low-income Americans.
However, according to the Associated Press, 13 states have chosen the option not to expand Medicaid, including states with large uninsured populations such as Pennsylvania, Texas and Georgia.
