President Obama vowed to continue his push for a higher minimum wage Wednesday after Senate Republicans blocked a vote on the issue.
They argue raising the minimum wage from $7.25 per hour to $10.10 would hurt employment.
“It could cost up to a million American jobs,” said Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.
After the vote, the President spoke briefly at the White House, saying, “It’s a very simple issue. Either you’re in favor of raising wages for hard-working Americans or you’re not.”
