Family refuses to remove Obama tombstone from their front yard

An Oklahoma man and his family have sparked outrage across the country after placing an Obama tombstone in their front yard as a Halloween gag.

Dwayne Dockens and his family think the Obama tombstone is just a joke, but some of their neighbors are offended.

One neighbor in particular, Jamilla Phillips, was “absolutely offended” when she saw the tombstone on her neighbors’ property. “He is the president of the United States, and it actually is about respect,” she said. “It’s a total respect thing because this person is still alive,” Phillips told KOCO-TV.

Dockens said he made the tombstone a few years ago when the validity of President Obama’s birth certificate was in question.

“[My family and I] made them a few years ago back when it was a big deal, questions up about [Obama’s] birth certificate,” Dwayne Dockens said. “And we made all these ourselves, so just thought it was kind of humorous and, you know, went ahead and put him in there as well.”

Dockens said he’s sorry that people are offended but has no plans of removing the tombstone.
