Woman charged for using Taser on 3-year-old child

St. Petersburg, FL — A Florida woman was charged with child abuse after police say she used a Taser on her own 3-year-old nephew. Police say that 30-year-old Ramona Braswell “intentionally touched the 3-year-old boy in the arm with an electric Taser causing visible injuries.”

Police responded to the scene after getting a call from the child’s mother. She said she was in another room when she heard her son crying from the living room. According to police, she rushed into the room only to see her sister laughing and flickering the Taser on and off. The child told his mom that his aunt tased him.

Braswell maintains that she is innocent and never touched her nephew with the device she borrowed from a friend. She was charged with one count of felony child abuse and her bond was set at $5,000
