Little girl dedicates heartbroken song to absentee dad

A young girl’s emotional plea to her absent father has gone viral since hitting the internet on Tuesday. In the clip above, the child seems nervous at first as she tries to gather her thoughts.

What comes next is absolutely heartbreaking.

She vents her frustration about her dad’s shortcomings as a parent, all while fighting through tears. This is obviously a freestyle — a diary entry set to music.

Starting the video off, she raps:

I’m trying to forget all the times you weren’t there. I came down for you, and now you’re gone — you call it curfew, I call it gone.

At one point, she disowns him, concluding: “I don’t even care if he gets shot.”

The video has amassed 235k views in just a day, with some saying that if she keeps practicing, she could one day become a “young Nicki Minaj.”

This clip has also sparked much discussion and debate about the prevalence of “deadbeat dads” in our community. According to the Center for Disease control, 85% of all children that exhibit behavioral disorders come from fatherless homes.

This young lady has at least found a positive way to channel her emotions.
