A 20-year-old Cincinnati mother has been charged with murder after brutally decapitating her three-month-old daughter, according to cops and local reports.
On Monday, Deasia Watkins, from College Hill, Ohio, was arrested for aggravated murder after her daughter Janiyah was found dead, her head severed, inside the family’s College Hill home.
A group of children called 911 after after finding Watkins with the baby’s body inside the home. Her relation to the children is not known.

“It’s days like this when you really wonder how much evil there is in the world and how we’re fighting it,” Hamilton County coroner Dr. Lakshmi Sammarco told the WCPO-TV. “We’re trying to do right by this child. We’re trying to bring justice for this baby.”
Watkins was taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center for a mental health evaluation on Monday evening. The mom was reportedly mentally ill and had previously lost custody of the baby earlier in her young life.
The baby had been placed with a family member. It is unknown how Watkins regained custody of her.
