She went to Jared.
Well, she tried.
Prosecutors say a New York police officer used a dead man’s credit card number in order to buy a diamond ring for herself.
According to Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance, Ymmacula Pierre is “accused of disgraceful conduct by using the credit card information of a dead man to buy expensive jewelry.”
Luckily, the credit card company had called the dead man’s niece, and she was able to stop the transaction before the ring was delivered.

Investigators say that the purchase of the ring was done through Pierre’s boyfriend’s computer and that the ring was meant to be sent to an address she had listed on her NYPD application.
Now, the 30-year-old Pierre faces charges for criminal possession of stolen property, identity theft and official misconduct charges for the brazen theft.
According to investigators, Pierre had arrived at the apartment belonging to the 65-year-old Ken Sanden, only to find that he was already dead. She used his phone to contact his niece and then allegedly copied down his credit card and email information.
Evan Oppenheimer, who lived next door to Sanden, was appalled by the incident.
“We trust that the police be there when we need them. This is just wrong, to take advantage of Ken. It’s a horrible thing to do, to someone who can’t take care of himself.”
