Dozens of police officers allegedly beat, tase unarmed black man

A video posted to YouTube Wednesday shows an unarmed man being beaten and tased multiple times by Philadelphia police officers.

The man in the video is reportedly 22-year-old Tyree Carroll. He was stopped while riding his bike.

The video shows him being held down by four police officers. As he screams and calls out for his grandmother, he is repeatedly punched by an officer.

Another police car pulls up, and an officer emerges to shout, “I have a f***ing taser, here I come! You’re getting the f***ing taser!”

Another approaching officer adds, “Tase that motherf***er.”

As the officers continue to beat Carroll with their fists, one shouts, “You f***ing bit me you piece of s**t!”

Over two dozen officers are on the scene by the time the video ends, with the camera counting 11 police cars. Most of the officers appear to be white.

“Four cops had him, he wasn’t going no where,” the videographer says to her companion at the end of the video. “Thank God he lived — right now.”

According to Jasmyne Cannick, who posted the video, the incident took place on the night of April 3 at 7:30PM. Raw Story reports Philadelphia court records show Carroll was arrested April 4 and remains in custody. His arraignment is scheduled for July 21.

Carroll was arrested on charges of assault, recklessly endangering another person, resisting arrest, and several drug charges. His family is currently trying to free him and get the charges against him dropped.
