The Barack Obama biopic Barry is hitting Netflix Dec. 16, and just to give us a little taste of what’s to come, Netflix has dropped a trailer.
The film, which stars Devon Terrell as a young Obama, focuses on Obama’s junior year at Columbia University in 1981, during which time he started to develop his opinions on government, race and other matters and truly started to shape the path he would eventually take to become president.
The film first premiered last September at the Special Presentations section at the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival as is the second biopic to examine the life of President Obama. The first, Southside With You, followed the story of a young Barack Obama asking Michelle Robinson out on their first date in 1989.
