On Thursday, during a speech to a crowd of A&E Network’s advertisers, former President Barack Obama took his first shots at now-President Donald Trump.
Presidential historian Doris Kearns Goodwin was interviewing Obama when she asked how he handled moments of frustration, and his response was a not-so-thinly veiled jab at Trump: “For starters, by not having a Twitter account.”
According to the NY Post, Obama was paid $400,000 for the speaking engagement, the same amount that he is reportedly set to make for an upcoming speech at a health care conference by Wall Street firm Cantor Fitzgerald.
Former First Lady Michelle Obama also spoke on Thursday, though she was at the AIA Conference on Architecture in Florida.
