Pro-gun parishioner accidentally shoots himself and wife in church while discussing church shootings

Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

Everyone is talking about gun control these days, though they don’t often agree on what should be done about it. First United Methodist Church in Tennessee was having an open discussion about church shootings, which is great, only the moment was somewhat marred by what happened next.

One churchgoer pulled out his .380 Ruger and stated that he can “carry my handgun everywhere.” Thing is, he probably shouldn’t because while showing how one removes and replaces the magazine in the gun he loaded a bullet into the chamber.

As he was explaining how he could tell the gun wasn’t loaded, someone asked him if they could see the gun. Somehow the owner of the gun ended up pulling the trigger and shooting both himself and his wife. All during a talk about gun control.

The man was shot in the hand while his wife caught the bullet with her abdomen. The injuries are not said to be life-threatening and no charges were filed.
