An Indiana high school teacher has been arrested just before Thanksgiving after students claim they witnessed her snorting some sort of powder in the classroom.
Samantha Cox, 24, was taken into custody and is now in Lake County Jail pending charges for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia charges.
Students filmed her cutting up lines of what cops think was a mix of heroin and cocaine.
St. John Police Chief James Kveton released a statement that said the students’ actions “showed a tremendous amount of fortitude and integrity and enabled staff to address this situation promptly.”

“She tried to hide herself,” a student witness stated. “She wasn’t at her desk where we could see her. She was all the way in the corner where she thought we can’t see her.”
The footage went viral on social media and investigators have not spoken of the specifics of the case but they did say that teachers, like everyone else, are “entitled to their due process rights.”
The school put out a robocall to both parents and staff that said, “Swift and forceful action was taken in conjunction with St. John and Dyer police departments. The safety of all students remains the top priority of our school staff and a full investigation is ongoing.”
