It has now been confirmed that Bill Cosby paid a woman who accused him of sexual assault $3.38 million in a 2006 settlement.
The amount of the settlement paid to Andrea Constand was made public on Monday, when prosecutors revealed the details during the opening statements of Cosby’s retrial, according to CNN.

Constand accused Cosby of drugging and assaulting her at his home in 2004, even though his lawyers insist his sexual relationship with the former employee at Temple University was consensual.
However, during his opening statement on Monday District Attorney Kevin Steele alleged the disgraced comic pressured Constand to take pills that impaired her after he had gained her trust.

Constand filed a police report against Cosby in 2005, but instead of being charged a civil lawsuit between the two was settled a year later.
Even though dozens of women have come forward, currently, the 80-year-old is only being tried for three counts of aggravated indecent assault on the former European basketball star.
He has pled not guilty.

On Monday, a topless woman protesting outside of Cosby‘s trial jumped over the barricade and rushed into the path of the disgraced comedian.
The woman, later identified as Nicolle Rochelle, had the names of Cosby’s accusers written across her body as well as phrases like “Women’s Lives Matter,” “Cosby rapist,” and “semen.”
As Rochelle jumped over the barricade and onto a walkway, Cosby was being led towards the court by his spokesperson Andrew Wyatt. Rochelle ended up in bushes as she and officers tussled with each other until she was placed in handcuffs. She was led away from the scene.
In a weird twist of events, Rochelle once appeared as a child actress on the Cosby Show. She played Danielle, a friend of Rudy Huxtable, who was played by Keshia Knight Pulliam.
