Good Morning America once tried and failed to have a third hour of news. But apparently, they believe former NFL star Michael Strahan’s got the juice to score high ratings and has ordered a third hour of GMA with Strahan in the seat as co-host along with Sara Haines.

Let’s hope Strahan is not being set up to fail. We’re sure Kelly Ripa, the former Live with Kelly and Michael co-host he feuded with would get a kick out of that!
The new segment will be titled GMA Day and will air later in the day, 1 p.m. Eastern Standard Time weekdays, three hours after GMA’s second hour, ABC reports. The popular foodie show The Chew has been cancelled and GMA Day will take its place starting Sept. 10, ABC News confirmed.
In any event, Strahan is pretty giddy about his new gig.
“Tell your friends, tell your family, tell the whole town, shout it from the rooftops!” he tweeted.
Haines, former co-host of the View also shared her joyful sentiments online.
Tell your friends, tell your family, tell the whole town, shout it from the rooftops! Starting September 10th @sarahaines and I will be hosting the 3rd hour of @GMA! #gmaday #gma pic.twitter.com/ayrRQEMXqQ

“Ahhhhhhhh!! Not even sure I can find the words to adequately express how excited I am to sit next to @michaelstrahan as we embark on this new journey,” she tweeted.
Strahan is a former New York Giants played who shifted her career into the media realm in 2012 when he became the co-host of Live! With Kelly and Michael. Strahan was offered a full-time anchor job on Good Morning America in April 2016.
