Trouble, it seems, is never far behind Williams, who just won his first Emmy Award.

Recently, Katt Williams has had a bit of a career renaissance, including winning his first Emmy and having a resurgence on the comedy scene.

However, as is often the case, trouble isn’t far behind him. Williams is once again back in trouble with the law after being arrested on assault charges Saturday in Portland, Oregon.

Williams, 47, was in Portland to make an appearance during the Wild N’ Out Tour when, according to The Oregonian, he allegedly assaulted a driver late Friday night at a private plane terminal in a dispute over transporting him and his dog.

Williams recently caused controversy last month by going on a rant against Kevin Hart and Tiffany Haddish on Atlanta radio station V-103 where he took shot at Haddish’s ability to do stand up and implied that she lied in her book about being abused by her ex-husband.

“She has not proven the ability to tell jokes back-to-back for an hour to nobody,” Williams said in the interview. ““She had a white husband for all of the 14 years she’s been doing comedy and then all of a sudden divorced him. Then said he abused her. Then wrote a book. Then said he didn’t.”

It was in this same interview that he famously roasted host Wanda Smith after she took a dig at him that led to her husband allegedly confronting him with a gun at an Atlanta nightclub.

Williams has had numerous brushes with the law in recent years, including 10 of them in Atlanta in 2016, as well as infamously getting beaten up by a teenager in a video that went viral.

Kevin Hart, in his defense of Tiffany Haddish, aired out Williams on The Breakfast Club for his numerous run-ins with the law and cited them as the reason he hasn’t become a bigger star than he is.

““My frustration with Katt Williams comes from, you keep pointing at Hollywood. ‘Hollywood this, the White man this and this,’ when are you going to take responsibility for your actions.” Hart said, adding that Williams chose drugs over stardom. “You had the shot! You were the guy! You were set up to be the star.

“You didn’t show up to work,” he added. “You f–ked off promo shoots; you f–ked off your promo trips that they set up for you. You became a risk to the studios, which is why the studios stopped f–king with you.”

Katt, whose real name is Micah Williams, is being held in the Multnomah County Jail, where he is also being held on an outstanding warrant from his home state of Georgia.
