On Friday, Tatianna L. Morales and Djovany Pierre, both 21-years old, were found dead in an SUV that was submerged in the Boston Harbor.

The two were allegedly friends from social media.

According to a report, Morales and Pierre had previously spent time together with friends. Last Tuesday was the first time “they had ever hung out by themselves,” said Yeison Giron, who shares a 1-year-old son with Morales.

NBC10 of Boston reported that videos Morales posted on social media led her family to the Boston Seaport. When they arrived, they found no signs of her.

“She was murdered,” Giron said. “She was not suicidal. She loved her life. The last time I spoke to her she was happy. This was no accident.”

According to Massachusetts State Police, it remains unclear what transpired between Morales and Pierre.

“The facts and circumstances of the deaths, including cause and manner, are still under investigation,” spokesman Dave Procopio said.

Pierre’s family declined to be interviewed. The Morales family said that they had previously been communicating with the man’s relatives, but that communication ended with the discovery of their bodies.

Pierre leaves behind a 9-month-old daughter.

In a statement, Massachusetts State Police said that they “responded to Black Falcon Avenue, between the Black Falcon Terminal and 88 Black Falcon Ave., after developing information that a sport utility vehicle went into the water at that location earlier this week.”

MSP divers were able to retrieve Morales and bring her body to shore. Pierre could not be removed from the vehicle while underwater, so divers hooked tow cables to the entire vehicle and a truck pulled it out. Pierre was recovered from the vehicle once it was on land.

“It’s just really sad,” said Benvinda Jackson, Morales’s cousin, “None of this is making sense at all.”
