In a brief teaser video released on his 34th birthday via his label, OVO Sound, Drake announced his sixth full-length studio album, Certified Lover Boy

For this outing, set to be released in January 2021, the Canadian chart-topper will most likely be paired up with his in-house producer, Noah “40” Shebib, who also mentioned the album in a podcast interview with Kevin Durant. He said that he and Drake have mainly been working remotely since the onset of the coronavirus pandemic.

This summer, Drake announced the forthcoming album on Instagram, saying that it would drop this year, but it was delayed by the pandemic.

The teaser video featured recreations of some of his biggest albums, including 2011’s Take Care, 2013’s Nothing Was the Same and his most recent mixtape, May’s Dark Lane Demo Tapes.

In the video, a young Black boy is seen gazing up at a dark sky before the scene turns to Drake sitting pensively at a table reminiscent of the cover of Take Care, but a heart is cut into his hair.

Drake recently set another new record, becoming the first male artist to have debuted three songs at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 song chart.

He is tied with Mariah Carey, who had three number-one debuts between 1995 and 1997.

The record is one of many that Drake has broken. He recently set a new record for most top-10 songs in the history of the U.S. Billboard chart, unseating pop legend Madonna.

The rapper is considered one of the highest-selling individual artists of all time.

While he is known for his hit songs, Drake also has a charitable side. He recently sent positive wishes to 14-year-old Zelek Murray of Toronto via video chat and offered him some kind words for his birthday. The teenager has been battling brain cancer since the age of 9.

“I can’t imagine how tough you have to be, and Mustafa let me know how you’re a fan of mine,” Drake told Murray. “Well, I’m a fan of you. I’m a fan of people with heart, and I can tell that you have a lot of heart. I just wanna tell you, stay strong, I love you, and I appreciate you.”
