According to Politico, Daryl Brooks was the first speaker called by Giuliani, President Donald Trump‘s lawyer, as a witness to allegations of vote-counting irregularities in Philadelphia. However, Brooks’ credibility is questionable as he has a lengthy criminal history including sexual assault, and has repeatedly run for office, and lost, in New Jersey.
“It’s such a shame. This is a democracy,” he said according, to Politico. “They did not allow us to see anything. Was it corrupt or not? But give us an opportunity as poll watchers to view all the documents — all of the ballots.”
Brooks has run for multiple political offices, including the U.S. Senate and the House of Representatives. During the press conference held at the Four Seasons Total Landscaping offices in Northeast Philadelphia, Brooks announced he had moved to the city within the past two years.

Although he has inserted himself into politics as both a candidate and a poll watcher, Brooks has a disturbing criminal history. Politico found his record includes a conviction in the 90s on charges of sexual assault, lewdness, and endangering the welfare of a minor for exposing himself to two girls, ages 7 and 11.
When he appeared at the press conference, New Jersey officials recognized him immediately, according to Politico.
“I started watching it and all of a sudden I was like, ‘there’s New Jersey’s perennial candidate claiming to live in Philadelphia and Giuliani claiming him to be a poll watcher and Philadelphia resident,” Trenton Mayor Reed Gusciora said in a phone interview with the news outlet.
“Yeah, I know Daryl. It’s so fitting that he would be there,” James Gee, chief of staff to New Jersey Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman told Politico. “People don’t pay attention to who they hire. They’re just trying to get bodies, particularly if it’s a white organizer.”
Despite the election being called in favor of now President-elect Joe Biden, Trump has yet to concede. As theGrio reported, those closest to him such as wife Melania Trump and Jared Kushner have urged POTUS to accept his loss although Trump campaign advisor and senior advisor Jason Miller said, however, those claims are not true.
