With over a decade of experience in digital and print media, Kay has built a diverse editorial background, reporting on everything from high-profile celebrity news to critical social issues.

Before joining theGrio in October 2022, Kay spent two years in the U.S. Virgin Islands as a staff reporter for the St. Croix Avis, covering the region's culture, art, politics, and daily life. Her previous roles include serving as a reporter and newsletter editor at ThinkProgress and a staff writer at Baltimore STYLE magazine.

Kay’s work has also appeared in the Washington Post Express and The Baltimore Sun.
