Political strategist and author Atima Omara joins theGrio’s Natasha S. Alford to discuss her new book The Instigators, which traces the untold history of Black women who refused to wait for permission to change this country. From Barbara Johns leading a student strike that became part of Brown v. Board of Education, to Shirley Chisholm, Mary McLeod Bethune, and the everyday mothers, workers, and organizers who built American democracy from the ground up.
