White House sends ‘shout out’ to Kendrick Lamar after Grammy performance

Monday evening, Grammy host LL Cool J declared on the red carpet that it was going to be Kendrick Lamar’s night, and he couldn’t have been more correct.

Lamar kicked off the evening’s broadcast by receiving the Best Rap Album award from fellow Compton-ite Ice Cube for To Pimp A Butterfly. Then he went on to have one of the most celebrated performances of the evening.

However, many on social media think one of the coolest King Kendrick moments of the evening was when The White House sent him a shout out.

Directly following his acceptance speech, the official Twitter account of the White House posted:

“Shoutout to @KendrickLamar and all the artists at the #Grammys working to build a brighter future. #MyBrothersKeeper

Lamar previously made headlines after it was revealed he spent time with POTUS in the Oval Office as the two teamed up for the #MyBrothersKeeper campaign.
