LeBron James set to produce ‘House Party’ remake

Now that he’s dominated in the sports world, Lebron James has his sights set on Hollywood.

King James and his SpringHill Entertainment partner, Maverick Carter, are currently producing a new House  Party, which will breathe new life into the 90’s classic that put rapping duo Kid ’n Play on the map.

The New Line Cinema franchise started in 1990 and was followed by sequels in 1991 and 1994. Yet this time Atlanta’s Stephen Glover and Jamal Olori have been brought on to breathe new life into the screenplay.

“This is definitely not a reboot. It’s an entirely new look for a classic movie,” James tells The Hollywood Reporter. “Everyone I grew up with loved House Party. To partner with this creative team to bring a new House Party to a new generation is unbelievable.”

James, 33, already gave a well-received performance in Universal’s Amy Schumer comedy Trainwreck, so there’s always a possibility that he may make a cameo in this production as well.

“There’s no plan for it now,” admits Carter. “But he’s a fantastic actor, and if he wants a role, Stephen will find a great role to put him in.”
