Toni Braxton announces engagement to Birdman and shows off HUGE ring
Will someone finally unbreak Toni Braxton’s heart?
Well, it’s been reported that after two years of secret dating, Braxton is engaged to Birdman. She flashed a huge diamond bling on the promo of the upcoming season of Braxton Family Values.
In the video Braxton teases that she has an announcement and says, “I’m engaged.”
The engagement is no surprise according to those closest to the couple. “They’re so in love with each other. I’m surprised that they even waited this long to do it,” sources added.
The two of them are reportedly planning to hold a big reception bash with their friends and family after the fact to celebrate their marriage, but the ceremony itself is already complete.
It’s been rumored for some time that Toni Braxton and Birdman were already married or tying the knot soon.
As Ebony reported, Toni Braxton and Birdman really got tongues wagging about their relationship back in 2016 with the release of their collaboration “Heart Away” which hinted at the blossoming romance.
“He took my heart away,” sings Braxton. “Bad man with good manner / Played me like I was a habit / Middle finger, he could have it / I used to dream of livin’ lavish / Now a girl’s a livin’ legend.” Later, the Cash Money boss offers a few lines of his own. “Overseas and we high, steering wheel on the right side,” he raps. “Good girl with a bad guy, I took her heart, I won’t lie.”
The two of them were reportedly married in secret some time ago, though they have denied the rumors are true.
Braxton is also getting her new album amped up and ready to hit store March 23rd. The upcoming album titled: Sex and Cigarettes is according to Braxton, “the next step…I think as an artist you have push the envelope even further and that’s what I think I did with this album,” she teased. “I think my fans are really going to like it.”
Toni’s sister Tamar Braxton called Toni “Mrs. Braxton-Williams” on Instagram last year, adding more fuel to the rumors.
Tamar was the first to spark marriage rumors after she told Wendy Williams that Birdman had assumed the son-in-law role for the family after their mother was recently hospitalized.
Toni on her new album
In addition to planning her upcoming wedding to Birdman, the singer will also be busy promoting her new album. Calling her latest work reminiscent of Adele’s “Hello”, Toni Braxton told US Magazine, “It’s about girl empowerment, but at the same time I’m dying inside because the guy has moved on. Sex and Cigarettes [is] the next step for sexy and for my sound. I think as an artist you have to push the envelope even further and that’s what I think I did with this album. I think my fans are really going to like it.”
The Grammy-winning singer first hit the music scene in 1992, teaming up with Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds with her widely successful track Love Shoulda Brought You Home on the Boomerang soundtrack.
