Cardi B is adding her voice to the many others speaking out on gun control in the wake of the Parkland, Florida school shooting.

In particular, Cardi B is not impressed with Donald Trump‘s suggestion that arming teachers would be a good way to keep students safe.

“If a potential “sicko shooter” knows that a school has a large number of very weapons talented teachers (and others) who will be instantly shooting, the sicko will NEVER attack that school,” Trump tweeted on Thursday. “Cowards won’t go there…problem solved. Must be offensive, defense alone won’t work!”

But Cardi pointed out that Trump’s suggestion just doesn’t make any sense.

“Y’all want teachers to effectively prepare our youth, carry straps, and bust back at school shooters but at the same time only pay them $40,000 a year,” Cardi B wrote on Instagram.

“Imagine a old ass female teacher bussing a burner,” she added. This man really out his mind. America must be entertainment to other countries.”

Metal detectors are only in the hood

Then, the “Bodak Yellow” singer got real, pointing out the difference in the way schools in poorer areas are treated as opposed to other schools.

“Ya wanna know what’s the problem? That the government only put metal detectors in schools in the HOOD!” she wrote in another Instagram post.

I remember getting search every morning in high school,” she added. “Even parents who picked up they kids got searched.”

In the wake of the tragic Parkland shooting, in which 17 people lost their lives, the debate over gun control has teens speaking out and asking for action instead of just thoughts and prayers.
