A Mississippi teacher is believed to have taken off with one of her students, authorities say. Now a desperate search is on to bring a 16-year-old back home.
The 30-year-old teacher Nicole Jackson is believed to be with Oscar O’Neal II, who was reported missing about 7 a.m. Monday, according to the Hattiesburg American.
Jackson was previously charged with sexual battery in a position of trust after an investigation found that she had an inappropriate relationship with her student. Police said they began investigating her in mid-March after receiving a tip that she had been involved in the relationship.

Jackson was a teacher at the Earl Travillion Attendance Center in Hattiesburg, but resigned from her job and turned herself in to authorities on April 10. She was released on $10,000 bail, the Daily Mail reports.
But now authorities believe the two are together on the run.
Family frightened
Neal’s disappearance has his family on edge and his mom and dad just wants their son returned home safely.
They took to social media and put out a desperate plea for help.
“If u see my son please contact me or my wife Lisa O’Neal. We got the police involved,” his father Oscar O’Neal Jr. said on Facebook. “His nickname is Lil Pooh but his real name is Oscar Oneal.”
O’Neal is also said to go by the ‘Pooh Gotti’.
Jackson in reportedly married with at least one child, according to reports.
Police are on the lookout for a dark blue Chevy Impala with plate number FRA-4454.
District officials said the teacher has been employed with the Forrest County School District for several years.
Cops in Hattiesburg, Mississippi issued the alert on Monday and according to Mississippi law, the age of sexual consent is 16.
But that doesn’t apply to teacher or persons in positions of authority. State law prohibits people in authoritative positions from engaging in sex with minors under the age of 18.
