A Black state representative running for re-election for her seat decided she would hit the campaign trail and canvass door-to-door to meet her constituents.
But damn if she didn’t get the cops called on her in her own district.
—White woman caught on video calling police over Black woman smoking in her own apartment garage—
Janelle Bynum represents District 51 in Clackamas County, Oregon and was confronted by a deputy after a neighbor reported Bynum’s so-called “suspicious” door knocking activity, reports CNN.
Bynum took to Facebook to detail how her campaigning resulted in an unnecessary visit by the police.
“Live from the mean streets of Clackamas!!! Big shout out to Officer Campbell who responded professionally to someone who said that I was going door to door and spending a lot of time typing on my cell phone after each house—- aka canvassing and keeping account of what my community cares about! I asked to meet my constituent who thought I was suspicious, but she was on the road by then. The officer called her, we talked and she did apologize. #letsbebetterneighbors”
Bynum said she is running for reelection in the fall and decided to take to the streets to find out what the needs are in the community. When an officer approached her, he reported that someone called 911 because Bynum was “spending a lot of time typing on my cell phone after each house.”
Bynum said she was simply taking notes after each conversation to record what the community cares about.

Bynum then asked the officer if he would call the woman who made the 911 so she could talk to her.
“The officer called her, we talked and she did apologize,” Bynum said, without indicating the race of the caller.
But we already know.
Sounds like another case of white fright taking flight!
Just a day ago we reported a ‘suspicious’ Black family had the police called on them while they were enjoying meal at Subway. Last week, a Bay Area resident took issue with a little Black girl selling water on the sidewalk, and then someone in suburban Cleveland called the police on a 12-year-old Black boy and his lawn-mowing team for accidentally cutting a patch of their grass.
At this point white people should be good and tired of their own racist behavior!
