Police charge second suspect in XXXtentacion murder

Police have charged a second suspect int he murder of slain rapper, XXXtentacion.

According to reports, Michael Boatwright, 22 has been charged with first-degree murder of the 20-year-old, Florida-based rapper who was gunned down in broad daylight last month.

Boatwright was already in police custody after being arrested on drug charges last week and was in the county jail when detectives served him with an arrest warrant for the murder.

Aside from the first-degree murder charge, the 22-year-old suspect is already awaiting trial for drug charges that include possession of cocaine with intent to sell; manufacture or deliver; possession of the drug, flakka; battery on a specified employee; resisting/obstruction without violence;  probation violations; and possession of cannabis among other charges. He is currently being held without bail.

The rapper was reportedly leaving a motorcycle dealer alone in Florida when gunshots rang out, TMZ reported. Video footage reportedly showed a black vehicle speeding away from the scene. Video circulated online showing XXXTentacion (real name Jahseh Onfroy), seated inside of his vehicle, not moving.

Last month, police charged Dedrick Williams, 22, with first-degree murder in XXXtentacion’s death and are reportedly seeking another unidentified gunman along with Robert Allen, who is named as a person of interest in the case.

Before his untimely death, rapper XXXTentacion signed a multi-million dollar album deal, according to a report from the New York Times.

The controversial muscian whose songs climbed the charts following his shooting death inked a $10 million contract with independent musicdistribution company Empire and was prepping for this third musical project.

The slain rapper’s first two projects, 17 and ?, reached Billboard top 5 after his death. Two-armed gunman rushed his vehicle and unloaded a hail of bullets which ended the 20-year-old’s life.
