Kevin Hart may be best known for his stand-up comedy skills and his blockbuster films, but the actor/comedian is ready to take over the small screen as well.
According to Variety, the funny man is set to co-produce a family-friendly comedy series for ABC entitled Don’t Call It a Comeback and is teaming up with black-ish executive producer Courtney Lilly on the project.

According to Variety:
The series is a single-camera family comedy about a 40-year old divorced dad who had one hit with a PM Dawn-type hip-hop group back in the ’90s and how he uses his attempt at a comeback to get his swagger back in parenting, relationships and life and prove that no matter where you are, your best days are ahead of you.
“Courtney’s idea is funny, relatable and most importantly has so much heart—all the elements that belong in a HartBeat production,” Hart said. “I’m so excited to work with him and everybody at ABC.”
Kevin Hart is in high demand when it comes to the TV world and already has deals in place with three other networks. He and America Ferrera are currently executive producing the series, All Fancy for NBC and FOX has already ordered his animated series Lil Kev.

As if that’s not enough, Hart has inked a first-look deal with Nickelodeon to deliver kid-friendly content to the network under his HartBeat Productions banner.
“For me, Nick has always represented everything fun about being a kid, and it’s still at the forefront today of kids’ and family entertainment,” Hart said in a statement. “I’ve been slimed at Kids’ Choice, won a lot of Orange Blimps and my kids are my very own built-in focus group, so I’m ready to dive in and make some next-level shows with Brian and everyone at Nickelodeon.”
