Khloé Kardashian gets slammed for wearing a Diana Ross inspired curly wig
To celebrate Diana Ross 75th birthday Khloé Kardashian wore a big, curly wig but she was criticized for what many called cultural appropriation.
In the spirit of Diana Ross, Khloé Kardashian was coming out to celebrate the Supremes icon at her 75th birthday bash and switched things up when she wore a big, curly wig in the same vein as Ross’ legendary hairstyle, PEOPLE reports.
But haters gonna’ hate, and unfortunately for Kardashian, she got slammed and criticized for what many called cultural appropriation, even though she was wearing the hairdo clearly to pay homage to Ross at her star-studded birthday celebration that she attended on Tuesday. But was the criticism warranted? Her detractors believed so.

Another person on The Shade Room’s post pointed out the hypocrisy of slamming Kardashian for wearing the curly hair.
“Y’all always bagging on them for doing things like African Americans yet y’all wear BONE STRAIGHT weave and LASH EXTENSIONS which is natural for Other races . Make it make sense‼️” said commenter @baadgaalrere.

A day after the birthday affair, Kardashian took to Instagram to report that she had no intentions of taking the wig off and would rock it a little longer.
“Last night was so much fun being at Diana Ross’ 75th birthday party. I obviously had a lot of fun but my wig that’s inspired by Miss Ross I just didn’t have the energy to take it off,” the reality star said.
“So, I am going to be wearing this today. It’s a little crazy and I know the party theme is over but it’s fun and I’ll take it off tonight,” she continued.
“But I love this hair. Ugh, last night was so much fun and now I get to spend the day with my mommy!” Kardashian said before showing her mom Kris Jenner.
“And look at how adorable my mom is!” said Kardashian about Jenner who was wearing Chanel. “I have a curly-inspired Diana Ross wig on and this is just, who she is. I have to be inspired by someone.”

Everything stopped in the name of a legend on Tuesday night when celebrities far and wide came together to celebrate the 75th birthday of Motown singer Diana Ross, which included a serenade by Beyonce, PEOPLE reports.
Ross gathered with family and friends for a star-studded party at the Hollywood club Warwick, and then later the palatial Hollywood Palladium where Beyonce, the Queen Bee, sang Happy Birthday to the ‘The Boss’ on her birthday.
After Beyonce delivering a rousing Happy Birthday rendition to Ross, the two embraced to cheers from the crowd.
