Boosie Badazz posted a message to his Instagram Story letting his followers know he is “good” after being shot this weekend in Dallas, Texas.
“I’m good. Appreciate all the happy birthdays wishes & get well soon wishes. I love y’all.”
The rapper’s vehicle was shot at in the Big T Plaza parking lot in Dallas, Texas on Saturday, his 38th birthday. He was also shot in the leg during the incident.
According to TMZ, the “Wipe Me Down” rapper’s sprinter van was damaged after someone opened fire before they fled the scene. A source told the outlet the rapper was taken to a hospital to be treated, and the wound he suffered is non-life threatening, reportedly below the knee.

Boosie was in Dallas to attend the funeral of friend and fellow rapper Mo3, who was shot and killed on the highway on Nov. 11 when a car pulled up beside him and opened fire. He was 28.
On Friday, Boosie was present during a public event to pay tribute to his fallen friend, where he said, “I appreciate all the times we had together.”

Griselda rapper Benny the Butcher was also shot this weekend in Texas. The Buffalo native was wounded during an attempted robbery at a local Walmart in Houston.
According to police, the rapper, whose real name is Jeremie Pennick, got out of a Rolls Royce to enter the store when a group of men demanded his jewelry. He was shot in the leg as he attempted to flee the assailants.

Another part-time rapper and full-time dentist, Dr. Rose, was shot multiple times outside his Dallas office this week. Rose said he would be taking time away from both careers as he recovers.
The violence against rap artists in Texas has fans there concerned.

“It’s crazy that 3 rappers shot in Texas in the span of a week,” one observer tweeted. “We gotta protect them.”
There have actually been four rappers’ shootings in the Lone State State in a week.
