Pharrell Williams is on a musical mission and he’s inviting us all along for the ride in his new Netflix series, Voices of Fire. The series is set to hit the streamer on November 20 and in it, we’ll watch the icon return to his hometown to find the folks he needs to assemble the most inspiring gospel choir around.

Expect to be blown away by the sound of so many incredible gospel singers who are glad to put their God-given gifts on full display to get a chance to join a choir assembled by Williams and his own uncle, Bishop Ezekiel Williams.
While some may expect to see a revamped version of American Idol or The Voice, this particular show offers so much more by giving outsiders a glimpse of the powerful, passionate singers that are sprinkled through so many Black churches across the country.

The six-episode series was shot in Virginia Beach and Williams serves as executive producer for I am OTHER with Arthur Smith and Frank Sinton for A. Smith & Co.

Voices of Fire follows Pharrell Williams’ hometown community as it builds one of the world’s most inspiring gospel choirs. Pharrell’s uncle and a well-respected musical genius in the area, Bishop Ezekiel Williams and his core team of influential gospel leaders will venture out into Hampton Roads to find undiscovered talent. With the belief that diverse backstories can give their collective voice a greater meaning, the Bishop and his team will be searching for people of all ages, ethnicities, and backgrounds.
