Doja Cat, Ari Lennox lead BET Awards nominations

Doja Cat, Ari Lennox and Drake dominate the list of nominees for 2022 BET Awards. The nominations were announced Wednesday.

Doja Cat leads all artists with six nominations, including Best Female R&B/Pop Artist, Best Female Hip Hop Artist, ‘BET Her’ for Woman, and Album of the Year for Planet Her. Doja Cat’s smash collaboration with SZA, “Kiss Me More,” is up for Video of the Year and Best Collaboration.

Lennox and Drake are tied for the second-most nominations with four each. Lennox is up against Doja Cat in both the Video of the Year and BET Her categories for the hit single, “Pressure.” She is also nominated in the BET Her category for “Unloyal,” her collaboration with Summer Walker.

Drake’s “Way 2 Sexy” featuring Future and Young Thug is nominated in both the Best Collaboration and Video of the Year categories. He is also up for Best Male Hip Hop Artist and Album of the Year for Certified Lover Boy.

Other categories include Best Movie, Best Actor, Best Actress, Sportsman of the Year and Sportswoman of the Year.

The 2022 BET Awards, hosted by Golden Globe winner Taraji P. Henson from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, will air live at 8:00 p.m. ET on June 26 on BET.
