Republican senator calls Obamacare supporters ‘dumba**es’ in profane rant

Apparently Republican Senator Orrin Hatch (Utah) has a few things to get off of his chest about Obamacare and those that love the universal healthcare system.

Speaking at the American Enterprise Institute, Orrin Hatch reportedly said, “[We] finally did away with the individual mandate tax that was established under that wonderful bill called ObamaCare. Now, if you didn’t catch on, I was being very sarcastic. That was the stupidest, dumbass bill that I’ve ever seen.”

The remarks from Orrin Hatch received a nervous laugh from the crowd but the senator continued on his profane rant calling out Obamacare supporters directly.

“Now, some of you may have loved it. If you do, you are one of the stupidest, dumbass people I’ve ever met.” No one reportedly laughed that time as the senator continued on his rant, “This was one of them — and there are a lot of ’em up on Capitol Hill from time to time.”

Oh, really, Orrin?

The HuffingtonPost notes that Orrin Hatch’s offensive comments at the American Enterprise Institute came the same day that a new report revealed that over 54% of Americans are in agreement with the Affordable Care Act, according to the Kaiser Family Foundation poll.

We imagine that some of those Americans are also Republican voters.

Over 8.8 million people signed up for Obamacare in 2018 in spite President Trump and the GOP doing all they could to kill it. Almost 2.4 million consumers were new signups and over 6.4 million continued with their current coverage.

“The demand for affordable coverage speaks volumes — proving, yet again, the staying power of the marketplaces,” said Lori Lodes, a former Obama administration official and co-founder of Get America Covered, which promotes open enrollment.
