Migos rapper Offset is finally opening up about his reconciliation with Cardi B and even though it’s clear he missed his wife during their temporary split, fans may be surprised to discover which one of them refused to go to get counseling.

On Tuesday, TMZ caught up with the rapper and when a photographer asked what the secret is to maintaining a relationship in the spotlight, he simply replied, “Real love,” while showing off his wedding ring.

Offset and Cardi — who have one daughter together, Kulture — went through a very public rough patch last year which led the 27-year-old to not only post apologies but also crash his wife’s performance at the Rolling Loud Festival in Los Angeles.

While some thought it sweet that a man would be willing to beg his estranged spouse to take him back in front of millions, others found the display intrusive and unhealthy. Regardless of what anyone thinks, the ploy obviously worked, and earlier this year Cardi confirmed that she and her hubby were working on getting their marriage back on track.

“It’s been good” Offset now admits. “We’re being more open to each other, raising our baby and taking things slowly.”

They may be on the road to recovery, but during a recent interview in Harper’s Bazaar, Cardi made some surprising remarks about what initially led to the break up and why she’s been resistant to get couple’s counseling.

When asked if she was influenced by anyone to break things off in December she adamantly states, “No, I decided on my own. Nobody makes my decisions about my life but me.”

“I didn’t want to go to marriage counseling,” she said in reference to Offset begging her to go see a therapist. “He suggested it, but it’s like, ‘I don’t want to go.’ There’s no counselor or nothing that could make me change my mind.”

Luckily for Offset, time – and a whole lot of public begging on his part – finally did the trick.
