Chicago police reportedly responded to an urgent call to R. Kelly’s Chicago compound saying that his girlfriends were about to carry out a “suicide pact.”

Lisa Van Allen alleges R. Kelly told her about affair with Aaliyah’s mother

The anonymous caller claimed that Azriel Clary and four other women, who are alleged victims of the embattled singer, were planning to carry out a suicide pact at one of his condos in Trump Tower.

That urgent call prompted officers to show up just before 5:30 p.m. yesterday, for a wellness check, the Chicago Police Department confirmed to PEOPLE in a statement.

“Police received a call from an out of state anonymous caller stating that people at the location were going to carry out a suicide pact. Police on scene conducting a wellness check and it is not a bonafide incident.”

However, Lizzette Martinez, one of Kelly’s alleged victims, did give credence to the notion of a suicide pact in an interview with PEOPLE, saying the women living in Kelly home did have one previously.

“I was the beginning of the predatory behavior. I was… I met him after he married Aaliyah. I had it bad but what I hear today is that he’s taking this to a whole other level and I’m so worried about the young women in the house,” Martinez said.

“I mean my anxiety is constantly through the roof because I hear the parents, I hear there’s a plan in place. That he’s put it in place that if something goes down they’re all going to take pills and kill… I just can’t.”

Still reeling from the explosive interview with Gayle King last week R. Kelly’s publicist, Darrell Johnson, told a Houston news station that the R&B singer is depressed and emotional following the sexual abuse charges.

Johnson told KPRC that on Saturday morning, R. Kelly was released from the Cook County Jail after his friends from “all across Chicago” bailed him out after paying $161,000 in back child support.

R. Kelly’s publicist now says singer is “depressed” and “emotional”

Last month, prosecutors charged R. Kelly with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of minors, according to documents provided to TheGrio.

Nine of the ten counts against Kelly involve alleged victims who at least age 13 but no older than 17 years old the 36-pages indictment says. In the indictment there are four alleged victims. One is linked to three different counts. In the State of Illinois, the statute of limitations on sexual abuse against minors can extend as long as 20 years.

If convicted, R. Kelly could face 3-7 years in prison per count.
