Real Housewives of Atlanta star NeNe Leakes is denying rumors that she is splitting with her husband, Gregg Leakes, who she has been caring for while he battles Stage 3 colon cancer.

In an Instagram post issued Monday evening, the 51-year-old said that whoever started the rumors was creating “fake news.”

“Oh Lawd!” she posted. “They say we separated now @GreggLeakes. #fakenews.”

She sent out the post with a photo of she and her husband. Gregg Leakes is wearing a baseball cap that reads “Cancer sucks.”

Last year, Leakes revealed that her husband was fighting cancer and she has taken to social media to share that being a caregiver can be trying and subject the caregiver to abuse at times.

Her revelations on social media prompted Gregg Leakes to share a social media post thanking Leakes for her care and apologizing for his behavior.

Leakes told People previously that the harsh diagnosis had altered her husband’s behavior.

“He’s changed as a person, his attitude changed,” she told the news organization. “Sometimes I forget that he’s sick and i need to remind myself because he’s so on the edge. He’s not nice but he can’t help it.”
