Performing at this year’s Coachella would have been perfect timing for Solange after releasing new music and bouncing back on the scene with a relaunch of the BlackPlanet social media site.
But on Sunday, Coachella announced that the “Cranes in the Sky“ singer would be sitting this one out, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

At first, the official Coachella account tweeted out that Solange pulled out of the show because of production delays.
“Due to major production delays, Solange will unfortunately no longer be performing at this year’s festival. She sends her sincerest apologies, and looks forward to performing at Coachella in the future,” the official Coachella account tweeted.

Now, TMZ is reporting that Solange canceled her appearance because several of her band members got sick and instead of doing a raggedy show, she canceled the entire appearance all together.
“We’re told Solange didn’t feel like she could deliver a great show for Coachella … and she ultimately decided to pull the plug,” reports TMZ.

Production issues are not uncommon reasons for artists to pull out of performances. The concerts for her previous album, “A Seat at the Table,” had more than 100 dancers and a huge production roster and even had performances at New York’s Guggenheim Museum, according to Variety.
But even without Solange, the festival is slated for two weekends, April 12-14 and April 19-21, in Indio, California.
And while Solange won’t be there to turn up like her sister Beyonce did a year before, there are still big names attached to the line.
Childish Gambino, Tame Impala and Ariana Grande are headliners. Kanye West will be performing his special Easter Sunday service with a choir. And Janelle Monae, Khalid, Zedd, The 1975, Weezer, J Balvin, Billie Eilish are also on deck for performances too.
