Whoopi Goldberg reveals she was hospitalized second time after battle with pneumonia

Less than a month after pneumonia and sepsis scare Whoopi Goldberg revealed on Monday that she was taken back to the hospital due to a 24-hour bug.

Three weeks after a health scare with pneumonia and sepsis Whoopi Goldberg lands back in the hospital with a 24-hour bug.

Whoopi Goldberg revealed on Monday that the coast is clear after she had yet another health setback. This time, The View co-host had a 24-hour bug that sent her to the hospital just weeks after her bout with pneumonia and sepsis.

The 63-year-old said during her show that she’s all better now after last week’s health scare, Us Weekly reports.

“I’m much better. I’m much, much better,” she said. “[I] had a 24-hour bug, which landed me back in the hospital last week, which is why I missed you all on Thursday,” she told viewers.

She continued: “But, you know the bug came and went. It’s gone. I seem to be doing well. I’m here!”

At this point, we need Goldberg wrapped in bubble wrap after she was touch-and-go battling a grave case of pneumonia that had her off duty at The View for a month.

“I had pneumonia and I was septic,” she said on a March 8 episode. “Pneumonia in both lungs, which mean there was fluid, there was all kinds of stuff going on. And yes, I came very, very close to leaving the Earth. Good news, I didn’t.”

Goldberg revealed that her sickness was pretty serious.

“Double pneumonia will also kill you. They had to pump a lot of stuff out of me. So, you know, this is a cautionary tale for all of us. You must really take care of yourself because there’s little tiny stuff out there that will kill you that you never think of.”

Goldberg also revealed during her return to the show that her system has been compromised a bit because of the pneumonia episode.

In April, The View co-host Sunny Hostin spoke about how alarming it was to learn of Goldberg’s condition.

“It’s been very scary,” she admitted. “What most people didn’t know is that we were visiting her in the hospital, so I had the chance to see her very, very sick, and it was scary because she is our rock and our moderator.”

“It’s been so wonderful to have [Goldberg] back.”
