Monday, a source told The Washington Post that things noticeably amiss during the intermission, which lasted much longer than usual. As the audience grew impatient, the comic who had originally served as the opening act came back out to entertain (and stall) them.
After nearly an hour, the show resumed and the hiccup was blamed on technical difficulties.
However, during the next act, without any warning a completely different actress took the stage to play Braxton’s part. The audience was reportedly so shocked that a rumble of confused murmurs were heard throughout the theatre as they all tried to figure out what had happened to Braxton.

Their dismay of the crowd was so loud and persistent, writer/director Je’Caryous Johnson was forced to address it after the performance, as audience members shouted towards the stage, demanding answers.
The only explanation Johnson offered was that Braxton had an emergency that prevented her from continuing with the show that night. Which caused peeved fans to air out their grievances online.
